Out for a Drive

The great thing about living in Montana is that driving is never boring. You just never know what you'll see. Buffalo, big horn sheep, antelope, deer. The picture of Chris and Derek by the fence turned out to be quite an adventure. . .the fence was surrounded by ice so it was just a tad slippery walking up to it. Guess who was the only one to bust HER butt? Hopefully, I'll be able to post the video soon. Oh, and we ate Mexican in a bus. FUN!

Don't be Jealous. . .

IT'S SNOWING!!! It's been awhile since we've had snow here, but it's coming down now. I love it!

Good Morning. . .not so much.

So this morning I'm snuggled in my bed, dreaming of something nice I'm sure, when Chris wakes me up. He needs my help, he says. Why, what could it be? Can he not find the creamer for his coffee? Lost his keys? Missing a shoe? No, that would be way too easy. Rex has had explosive diarrhea in the laundry room where he and Maggie sleep at night. It's on the washing machine, the wall, the water bowl, the curtains. Oh, did I mention that we have floor vents? It wasn't just on the vent cover, but in the vent itself. Lovely. I don't do eyes, Chris doesn't do poop. Lucky me. Don't worry. . .no pictures have been included in this post.

Weekend Update

Friday - Rex accidentally scratches Mags near her eye. It is bloody. You wouldn't think that would bother me, but I don't do dogs and I don't do eyes. Therefore, I freak. Chris is doing his evening rounds at the hospital so I call him. Next thing you know, I'm driving like a crazy woman to get Mags to the ER. Yes, the human ER. Keep in mind that Maggie is acting perfectly normal this whole time. She is excited to be going with me. Chris puts on his gloves (luckily, Mags doesn't have a latex allergy) and examines her eye, cleaning it with gauze. He decides there is no need to call a specialist and Maggie and I go home. Chris doesn't charge us for the visit ;)
Saturday - Chris is on call and comes down with a cough/sinus thingy. He relaxes at home while I travel the hour to Walmart. Rex needs bowls and a bed. Think we're all set in the pet department for a while.
Sunday - Chris is feeling better. We decide to take down the enormous satellite dish posing as a lawn ornament. Many of you know how I feel about lawn ornaments. After smashing my big toe and almost decapitating Maggie, we get the dish down. Unfortunately, the post is buried 4 feet underground in concrete. A shovel, a big chain, and the King Ranch are not enough. . .it's still in the ground. After all that work, Chris is not feeling well again.

New Addition

Chris and I are proud to introduce to you all the newest addition to our family. He was planned (sort of) and we love him already! Maggie isn't sure what to think about him yet, but I'm sure she'll adjust just fine. I had the fun task of going to the shelter today. The staff was a little nutty, the dogs pitiful, and some lady showed me a picture of her pet rat sleeping on her dog. That's just plain weird. I think I made the right decision when I picked Rex. He's a 10 month old Border Collie mix with just the sweetest personality. They told me he wasn't housebroken, but we've had no accidents so far. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Still Recovering

Whew!! A ski trip with a ski nazi (that would be Chris) is rough, but FUN! We all had a fantastic time skiing or snowboarding during the day and playing the Wii or relaxing in the hot tub in the evenings. It snowed practically non-stop from the moment we arrived until we left. We couldn't have asked for better weather. Here are some of my favorite pictures.

Ski Trip

For those of you that don't already know, we will be headed to Salt Lake City, UT this Saturday for a week long ski trip with friends. That means there will be tons of great pictures to post! I am super excited about the trip because I get to see Sara and Derek for the first time in forever! And, Sara just found out she's pregnant!! Mom and Heather get ready to do some embroidering! Anyway, yesterday we spent the day in Bozeman piddling (is that really a word?) around. Yay for Target!!! Of course, we stopped and took a couple pictures along the way. So, here ya go. . .

Prayer Request

A very special friend of mine needs your prayers. She recently found out that her breast cancer has returned to her spine. She is currently undergoing radiation therapy and is in very high spirits. She is the most kindhearted, modest, and caring person you could ever meet. While I have no doubt that she would be very thankful for your prayers, I don't believe she would like having her name posted on the internet. So, let's just call her Iris. After the flower, of course. Flowers always seem to brighten the day and I think that is very true of "Iris" as well. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!
